An extract from his short story "The Custodian," published by Belle Ombre in 2019:
"I wanted to be with friends and to be normal, but deep down I knew that I wasn’t. There was something inside that was always pushing me away from people. Or maybe pulling would be a better word, because it felt like someone was reaching down into my stomach and seducing me to follow a road that led to some remote place where the sky meets the horizon. And the seduction was the music, because somehow it made the winter seem like summer and the turmoil seem like harmony. And even I knew that for a teenager, that wasn’t normal at all..."

Musical Saw

Martin Agee has become known as an accomplished musical sawist. The beautiful and haunting sound of the saw played as a musical instrument has its origins in American folk tradition, and has been widely used in film (most notably in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest") as well as by mainstream composers including Krzysztof Penderecki and George Crumb.
Mr. Agee's performances on the saw have been acclaimed not only for their ethereal beauty, but for their interest in promoting musical education as well. He has developed programs for all ages, and has performed widely for youth programs and school concerts as well as concerts for the aged and infirmed.
Of a recent performance of Martin Agee's educational concert "Vibrations," a teacher commented that "it was one if the best assemblies she had seen...he did a great job maintaining the kids interest."
